Few There Be That Find It 2

Matthew 7:13-14: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Few there be that find it. Meditating on those six words might remind Christians of the many that do not find life. As we see and encounter multitudes of people we might remember that most of them do not find salvation. They are not looking for it. They don*t know they should be looking for it. They don*t even have a desire for it. If you meditate on passages like this you might be given a desire to show them how to find eternal life. If you can*t show them how to find it, you can certainly pray that someone will show them how to find it.

Salvation was an intrusion into my life and plans. I was not looking for it. I was lost and did not know it. I did not know that I should look for Jesus. I did not know that I needed Him. We will be treated like intruders by some of the people that we witness to. But a few of them will welcome us and our message.

Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

The Bible teaches that we are to be like Jesus. When we become like Jesus we will seek the lost. Don*t expect it to be easy.

Luke 10:3: Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

Most will remain wolves but enough will become lambs to make all your efforts worthwhile. Remember that when the Lord saved Saul, He turned a wolf into a lamb and changed his name to Paul. Thankfully, there are not many wolves as vicious as Saul was. I wonder if the most vicious wolves become the most fruitful lambs. I don*t know of anyone more fruitful than Paul. Before I was saved I encouraged people to become part of an unbiblical church. When the Lord saved me He turned another wolf into a lamb.

John 4:35: Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Fields cannot harvest themselves.

Luke 13:24:: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Even if they want salvation, many cannot find it without help. Many seek eternal life in the wrong places. Many seek a life that fits their plans. Many seek a life that won*t change them or their life. Many seek a life that won*t change them until after they die.

Psalms 55:19: God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

Romans 10:14: How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Luke 10:2: Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

The praying comes first. The praying is the most important. It is interesting that the most important part is also the easiest part. It takes no talent to pray. It usually takes no muscles or energy to pray. We don*t even have to pray out loud.

Psalm 139:2: Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
